New York, NY
I'm a freelance writer and senior editor with more than 10 years experience in the media industry and author of Things To Do Before You're 30 (April 2018, Adams Media/Simon & Schuster), plus the forthcoming Joy of Missing Out (November 2019).
I’m currently writing for the New York Times’ T Brand Studio, among other clients. Most recently, I worked as the Managing Editor of TuneIn, a sports, music, podcast and audio app. Previously, I worked for five years at BuzzFeed as Deputy Editorial Director, both in New York and San Francisco. Before that, I was the senior editor of the Huffington Post's Style vertical.
As a music journalist, I have interviewed the likes of Jack White, The Civil Wars, The Kills and Vampire Weekend and written features, reviews and cover stories.
In addition, I've written for Medium, Rolling Stone, The Atlantic, Cosmopolitan, The Awl, The Hairpin and more. I’m a recovering academic (and love talking to others of the sort!); I have a master's degree in religion and classics from Yale Divinity School. I love golden retrievers, ancient Greek, and the Trader Joe's "New Products" section. PS: Ask me about the time I went on the Today Show dressed as an SNL character.
