New York, NY
I'm a writer and senior editor with more than 10 years experience in the media industry and author of Things To Do Before You're 30 (April 2018, Adams Media/Simon & Schuster), plus the forthcoming Joy of Missing Out (November 2019).
I’m currently an editor at the Washington Post Brand Studio, the custom content agency within the Post. Before that, I worked as a contributing writer for the New York Times’ T Brand Studio, among other clients. Previously, I worked as the Managing Editor of TuneIn, a sports, music, podcast and audio app, as well as at BuzzFeed for five years as Deputy Editorial Director, both in New York and San Francisco. I also was the senior editor of the Huffington Post's Style vertical (back in the day!).
As a music journalist, I have interviewed the likes of Jack White, The Civil Wars, The Kills and Vampire Weekend and written features, reviews and cover stories.
In addition, I've written for Medium, Rolling Stone, The Atlantic, Cosmopolitan, The Awl, The Hairpin and more. I’m a recovering academic (and love talking to others of the sort!); I have a master's degree in religion and classics from Yale Divinity School. I love golden retrievers, ancient Greek, and the Trader Joe's "New Products" section. PS: Ask me about the time I went on the Today Show dressed as an SNL character.
